‘Fourteen Premier League Teams ‘Unanimously REJECT’ Plans for European Super League’

The plans for a ‘European Super League’ have been “vigorously” rejected by 14 English clubs.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City, Man United and Tottenham are among the 12 clubs taking part.

Six elite teams from Spain and Italy are also part of the proposed plans.

The clubs not included in the proposed ESL met on Tuesday for an emergency meeting and Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has called a meeting with all Premier League captains.

12 elite European clubs have signed up to the closed league.

But fans of all clubs along with influential figures around the game have spoken out against it.

Man City manager Pep Guardiola, whose club is taking part, condemned the proposals.

Man United striker Marcus Rashford shared an image on Twitter seemingly against the plans.

Boris Johnson has said he is prepared to introduce new legislation to prevent the new league.

The Duke of Cambridge, the FA president, has said he shares “the concerns of fans”.
