France: World's first SMS reaches €107,000 in auction to help refugees

The first SMS message ever sent in the world was sold for 107,000 euros in an auction held by French auction house Aguttes in Neuilly-sur-Seine, just outside Paris, on Tuesday.
The phone operator Vodafone who transmitted the SMS on December 3, 1992, pledged to donate the amount to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
A private buyer from Canada will become the exclusive owner of on-of a kind digital replica of the original communications protocol which transmitted the 1992’s message.
NFTs also serve as a certificate of authenticity for an object, virtual or real, based on blockchain technology, a tamper-proof system that also authenticates cryptocurrency exchange transactions.
