Germany: Fire services on scene following huge Essen apartment building blaze

Firefighters were seen extinguishing a fire that broke out at an apartment complex near Essen’s city centre on Monday, leaving at least three people injured.

Footage showed the charred building being sprayed by two water hoses whilst a crowd of onlookers gathered nearby.

Around one hundred house residents were rescued with about 150 emergency personnel on the scene.

The cause of the fire remains unknown.
