Germany: Hundreds join Berlin rally in support for Gorillas delivery riders

Hundreds of Gorillas food delivery app workers and their supporters took to the streets of Berlin on Tuesday evening under the slogan ‘An injury to one is an injury to all,’ ahead of a city labour council hearing on the strike case between the workers and the delivery app.
Demonstrators could be seen carrying banners and flags asking people to delete the Gorillas app as they marched through the city centre. Some protesters were symbolically carrying bicycles, as food delivery workers were most affected by the layoffs.
The protesters were demanding the reinstatement of workers dismissed due to the strike and better working conditions in the so-called gig economy, which usually employs migrants who come to the city, mostly on temporary contracts or as freelancers.
