Germany: Macron, Duda arrive in Berlin for talks on Russia-Ukraine tensions with Scholz

French President Emmanuel Macron and Polish President Andrzej Duda arrived in Berlin on Tuesday to meet with the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to discuss the recent efforts of de-escalation of Russia-Ukraine tensions.
The meeting took place as part of the Weimar Triangle at the headquarters of the German Chancellery following Scholz’s visit to Washington.
Macron arrived in Berlin from Kiev, where he had talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, just a day after visiting Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
This year, France would hold the EU Presidency, Germany the G7 Presidency and Poland the OSCE Presidency, which mean special responsibility for three countries in terms of European and global security issues.
