SOT, Thilo Cablitz, Berlin Police spokesperson (German): “We are here with around 1,700 colleagues today and we have support units from other countries again here as well. It is about enforcing the ban of the protest today as well as tomorrow. And we are focusing especially on the street of the street of July 17th as most protests where registered for here.”

SOT, Thilo Cablitz, Berlin Police spokesperson (German): “We are here since the early morning hours and we are approaching people early. Of course, we expected people to turn up and our prognoses came true. There were some coaches arriving, which we then stopped, controlled identities and forced them leave the area. And we are still meeting single people and small groups here around the street of July 17th.”

SOT, Thilo Cablitz, Berlin Police spokesperson (German): “Of course, there are forms of protests which can take place in times of a pandemic, which don’t cause any problems, such as a car convoy. But we also have other gatherings happening today, which have a working hygiene concept and where people stick to it as well, and therefore it isn’t actually the problem to hold gatherings during this times.”
