A German’s man is hoping to make his unusual online purchase of a decommissioned Russian MiG-21 fighter jet into a tourist attraction in the small town of Miesitz, in eastern Germany.
Mario Grieb shared the story behind how the old fighter ended up outside his car workshop on Tuesday.
The jet formerly served in the East German Airforce before being bought by Grieb some 11 years ago.
The MiG-21, NATO reporting name ‘Fishbed,’ was introduced in 1959 and saw combat in the Vietnam War, among other conflicts, and is the most produced supersonic aircraft in history.
