‘Iceland Volcano: Spectacular Eruption Attracts Tourists in Record Numbers’

Record-breaking numbers of tourists are visiting the erupting Fagradalsfjall volcano on the Reykjanes peninsula.

Search and rescue teams have now put infrastructure in place to keep visitors safe, with more than 5,000 people travelling to the area near Iceland’s capital Reykjavik.

The site had been closed when bad weather and high gas levels posed a risk to the public.
