Iran unveiled a brand-new long-range missile, the ‘Kheibar-Shekan’, during a State TV broadcast on Wednesday.

Chief of Staff of Iranian Armed Forces Major-General Mohammad Bagheri and Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Commander of Aerospace Forces, Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, presented the new weapon as launch tests took place in an undisclosed location in the desert area.

“The capability of the TNT materials used in the warheads of these missiles has increased many times, commented Hajizadeh during the presentation.

The missile, which is manufactured in Iran, can hit the targets at a distance of up to 1,450 kilometres (901 miles).

Its release comes just a day after Iran and the United States returned to Vienna for nuclear talks.
