Israeli Forces target Hamas’ Tunnel Network Under Gaza City

Israeli Forces have reportedly shown footage of the Israeli Defence Forces detonating Hamas tunnel shafts in the Gaza Strip.

Body-cam footage show the IDF moving into the tunnels which are filled with sand.

According to the IDF, “Soldiers of the Nahal Brigade conducted operational activity at a Hamas training post in northern Gaza,” where the tunnels were located. 

Hamas’ subterranean network, nicknamed the ‘Gaza Metro’, has been used by militants to store weapons and launch surprise attacks on Israeli forces. 

Israeli soldiers are now operating deep inside Gaza City, where Hamas’ most senior leader in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar, is believed to be trapped in a bunker.

An IDF spokesman has said “the directive is definitely to kill or capture all the leaders of Hamas”.
