Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said the country will not give up on its defence capacities and progress in nuclear technology despite the burden of sanctions.

“It is wrong to surrender to the United States, or any other power, in order to avoid sanctions, that is, to cut off that arm of our politics and political bargaining, and in order to fall short in front of them, lest, for example, that if we insist, they impose sanctions”, Khamenei told the Assembly of Experts for Leadership.

“I think these are mistakes”, he stressed.
