Dramatic aerial footage from Friday captured how the fire burned close to Sicily’s Catania, sending smoke above the city. In Palermo, fired burned on the mountainside as an amphibian plane was dispatched in firefighting operations.

Fires on the Italian island have forced the evacuations of dozens as at least 250 firefighting operations have been carried out to tame the flames.
