LGBTQ+ supporters gathered to protest in Milan on Wednesday evening after Italian senators voted down the ‘Zan’ bill, which aimed at making misogyny, as well as violence against LGBTQ+ people, and disabled people, a hate crime.
Several hundred supporters could be seen in the square, creating a sea of lights in the darkness with the help of flashlights.
