Japan: Olympic Games staff member arrested for alleged rape inside stadium

A part-time Olympic Games staff member from Uzbekistan has been arrested over an alleged rape of a 20-year old girl inside the Japan National Stadium in Tokyo.

Tokyo Metropolitan Police arrested 30-year old Davronbek Rahmatullayev on suspicion of coerced intercourse on Sunday.

The victim, another part-time staff member claimed to have been sexually assaulted in an aisle at the stadium, after they watched a rehearsal for the closing ceremony on Friday.

Rahmatullayev has denied the allegations.
