Several members of the German Olympic team arrived at Haneda Airport in Ota City on Thursday, eight days before the Tokyo 2020 Summer Games was set to start

Many athletes were seen carrying large baggage with their equipment inside.

All arrivals went through the Tokyo 2020 screening testing regime, undergoing tests and health checks.

According to the International Olympic Committee (IOC), as of Wednesday, only three arrivals have tested positive for COVID-19 and are currently in isolation.

The 2020 Summer Olympics are set to begin on July 23 and go until August 8, after being postponed last year due to the global pandemic.
