Dozens of tankers carrying Iranian fuel entered Lebanon from Syria on Thursday amid mass celebrations. Dozens of locals were seen gathering and celebrating on the road in Baalbek, some holding Hezbollah flags, while women cheered and sprinkled rice and flowers on the honking tankers.
“We’d like to send our thanks and appreciations to Sayyed Hasan (Nasrallah) who gave us this opportunity to break the siege and distribute this aid graciously given by the Islamic Republic of Iran,” stated a local resident.
Media close to Hezbollah reported that a convoy of 20 tankers carrying Iranian fuel entered Lebanon, each of them containing 50,000 litres of diesel fuel.
Last Monday, Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah said that the Iranian fuel will arrive in Lebanon by land via Syria, where the first ship has been unloaded at Baniyas port on Sunday.
Lebanon has been suffering from a severe shortage of fuel that negatively affected various vital sectors including hospitals, as a result of a two year economic crisis.

SOT, Local resident (Arabic): “Of course, this will have a positive effect, God Willing, especially since it is a gift from Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah, the resistance and the Islamic Republic of Iran, to the care houses, bakeries, pharmacies, hospitals, and the Red Cross.”
