Some 91 migrants were deported to Niger from Misrata International Airport on Wednesday by official authorities.
The migrants, mostly women and children were seen boarding a humanitarian flight back to Niamey after waiting at the airport.
The total number caught consisted of 60 children, 25 women and six men, according to border officer Hussein Al-Amin, who said the deportation was done “in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration.”

SOT, Hussein al-Amin, border officer (Arabic): “As per the honorable Prime Minister’s decree regarding the deportation of illegal migrants, today, the 3rd of October, we organized a flight from Misrata to Niamey in Niger for around 91 migrants, 60 of whom were children, 25 women, and six men, all in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration.”
