Ruptly is live from Essen on Monday, February 21, following a massive fire that broke out in a residential complex early in the morning.

According to reports, the fire started shortly after 02:00 local time (01:00 GMT) and spread around the building quickly due to strong winds brought by the storm Antonia.

The building is believed to be home to about 100 people.

Three people have been injured so far due to smoke inhalation and are receiving hospital treatment, according to authorities.
