LIVE: IAEA director Grossi delivers press conference upon arrival from Tehran

International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director-General Rafael Mariano Grossi is holding a press conference at the Vienna airport upon his arrival from Tehran on Sunday, September 12.

During the presser, Grossi is expected to update journalists on the agreement reached with Iran following a meeting with Vice-President and the Head of Atomic Energy Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran (AEOI) Mohammad Eslami held in Tehran on the same day. As a result of the meeting, Iran has agreed to allow the IAEA to hold maintenance of the surveillance cameras on its nuclear facilities.

On Monday, IAEA’s Board of Governors will hold a meeting where they are expected to discuss issues such as nuclear and radiation safety and security, verification and monitoring in the Islamic Republic of Iran in light of United Nations Security Council resolution 2231 endorsing the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on the country’s nuclear program, as well as application of safeguards in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and other issues.
