Ruptly is live outside the Capital Indoor Stadium in Beijing on Tuesday, February 15 ahead of the Women Single Skating short program event in which Russian athlete Kamilla Valieva along with her teammates may not feature.
On Friday, February 11, the International Testing Agency (ITA) confirmed that Valieva had failed a drug test taken last December during the 2022 Russian Figure Skating Championship in St. Petersburg.
The result came on the 8th of February and confirmed that Valieva had tested positive for trimetazidine, a prohibited substance under the Prohibited List of the World Anti-Doping Code.
The International Olympics Committee (IOC) is expected to appeal the decision to the Court of Arbitration in hopes of getting a final ruling before the start of the event.
