Protesters are taking to the streets of Sana’a on Friday, January 21, to demonstrate against the latest round of deadly airstrikes by the Saudi-led military coalition.

On Friday, an airstrike hit a temporary detention centre in Yemen’s Saada province killing several people. Houthi-run Al Masirah television channel said dozens of people had been killed and injured in the strike in north Yemen.

Saudi-led coalition warplanes had also launched airstrikes against targets in Yemen’s capital, Sana’a, late Monday and early Tuesday morning. Up to 23 people were killed in the raids, according to a tweet by the Houthi deputy foreign minister.

The strikes started one day after the Houthis claimed responsibility for an attack in the UAE that killed three people after two fuel trucks were struck in Abu Dhabi. Drones were used to hit the targets on Monday.
