LIVE: SPD holds national party conference in Berlin

The Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) holds a national party conference in Berlin on Saturday, December 11.

The conference comes following the party’s victory in the September Bundestag election and the appointment of their leader Olaf Scholz as the German Chancellor.

During the conference, party members are due to choose their new leader. The event has been shortened to just one day because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
