Ruptly is live from Long Island on Sunday, August 22, as Hurricane Henri, which intensified from a tropical storm over the weekend, is projected to hit the north-east coast of the United States.

The storm is expected to affect several states, including Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, which would make it the first storm to make landfall at hurricane strength in New England in 30 years. The last such storm to hit the shores was Hurricane Bob, which came ashore in Rhode Island in 1991, killing at least 17 people.

The White House said that President Joe Biden had been briefed on the storm’s path.
