The UN Human Rights Council gathers in Geneva on Friday, March 4, to continue its urgent debate on Ukraine amid its 49th regular session as the Russian invasion enters its 8th day.

On Thursday, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet said at least 227 civilians – 15 of them children - died in the conflict so far, and called for a ceasefire.
