The UN Security Council (UNSC) gathers in New York City on Friday, March 4. The special session aims to discuss the draft resolution on Ukraine amid the ongoing Russian military operation in Ukraine.

The military operation, which started in the early hours of Thursday, February 24, has drawn international condemnation, with Western countries imposing major sanctions. On Wednesday, March 2, 141 countries voted to condemn Russia at the United Nations while only five countries including Russia itself voted against the resolution.
