A group of curious meerkats was spotted feasting on extra-large Christmas crackers filled with a wormy surprise at the Berlin Zoo on Sunday.

The big-eyed suricates put their paws to work and dug into the red and white striped crackers, trying to reach the delicious reward hidden within mealworms.

Found in southern Africa, the meerkat is highly social and is primarily insectivorous.
