SOT, Refugee from Ukraine (Russian): “I really want and hope there will be peace all over the world and all peoples will live in harmony and there will never be war. Because it’s horrible. Guys, don’t walk in our shoes, don’t even try. And don’t let anyone suffer like we do.”
SOT, Refugee from Ukraine (Russian): “I had to [leave Ukraine] because I am afraid for my grandchildren, I am here with my grandchildren. I brought them so we could sleep peacefully at night and not hide during the day, because you don’t know what awaits you. Maybe they will come to an agreement, and everything will be fine. And if not, then what? And I feel sorry for the children.”
SOT, Refugee from Ukraine: “We didn’t expect to come here. Well, we kind of did, but we all hope that it [the situation in Ukraine] wouldn’t go as far as it did. So there was no choice for us, so we left, we crossed the border, and now we’re trying to understand what to do next. We don’t have a plan, we’re trying to figure something out on the way to Moldova, to Europe. I don’t know what we’re going to do, but anyway, we’re glad we left, I think.”
SOT, Volunteer: “Me and my colleagues from the Republic of Moldova are here at the border between Ukraine and Moldova. We’re meeting people coming from Ukraine, we are meeting them with tea, with coffee, anything they might need. We’re sorry for the thing that’s happening in their country, for the war there, everything they are going through. And we’re here to provide them with everything they might need: SIM cards, tea, coffee, food. Anything they might need.”
