There was a flood in Kentucky that will go down in US history! At least three people have been confirmed dead after heavy rains caused widespread flooding in Eastern Kentucky, leaving people on rooftops and others without power and water.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear said he expects deaths to rise to double digits, calling it one of the “worst and most destructive floods” in the state’s history. He said predicted storms meant the effects could worsen, potentially hindering both rescue efforts and efforts to restore power and water supplies.

“This is not just a disaster, this is an ongoing natural disaster,” Beshear said.
Beshear declared a state of emergency throughout Kentucky, and the National Guard was mobilized.

“We may not have seen the worst yet,” Beshear said.
Gen. Hal Lamberton of the Kentucky National Guard said brigades are working to rescue people stranded on rooftops. According to him, the school staff also found themselves in a difficult situation.
