Lima residents were treated to a rainfall of fireworks on Friday evening as the skies lit up with New Year’s Eve celebrations.
Footage showed the city skyline filled with explosive colours from every corner as New Year arrived in Peru.
The celebrations came after the government announced that Peruvian beaches would close on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s day on Wednesday, in an attempt to contain the spread of COVID-19.
