A passenger boat was seen being pummeled by harsh winds and rain on its way to Masbate Port on Tuesday, as Cyclone Joliana passed by from the nearby San Miguel Island.
Those on-board watched in fear from the boat deck, sheltered beneath a roof from the rain and waves hitting the vessel.
Despite the weather conditions, some passengers can be heard singing karaoke in the background.
Beginning as a severe tropical storm, Jolina strengthened into a typhoon on Monday night, with state weather bureau PAGASA reporting winds of up to 120kph (75mph).
