Poland: British troops practice NATO training in Orzysz

Soldiers from the British Army’s Black Horse Troop of the Royal Dragoon Guards, deployed to Poland as part of NATO’s enhanced Forward Presence (eFP) Battlegroup, conducted a training drill on Tuesday in Orzysz.

The week-long exercise focused on manoeuvring in an urban environment. Soldiers could be seen preparing for training, as well as practising cleaning rooms and buildings.

“What we do on a daily basis is that we train together, and you know on a particular Monday we do PT (physical training) like every unit, we’ll go out to the range, we shoot, we practice, we practice communications,” said Commander Craig Boyles who led the groups during training.

The eFP Battlegroup is currently training in Poland under the direction of the US.

The United Kingdom has increased the number of armed troops across Europe in response to heightened tensions between Russia and NATO members.

Russia has denied accusations that it is gathering forces at the border with the intention of invading Ukraine.
