While the Kuznica border crossing between Poland and Belarus remains closed amid the migration crisis, almost 1,000 trucks have formed a 20-kilometre queue in front of the Bobrowniki border crossing, as seen on Friday.

Although the waiting time can be up to 60 hours, one driver, Aleksandr, shared that “we are prepared, we bought food supplies, water and now we are standing here.

Poland, backed by the EU, is committed to keeping migrants from crossing over the border, and has warned that the humanitarian crisis could drag on for months.

So we are prepared, we bought supplies of food, water and now we’re standing here. We are standing for 24 hours already.”

SOT, Aleksandr, truck driver (Russian): “The Polish transport inspection today was distributing bags with some snacks, an apple, bread, canned meat. It’s not much but it’s nice, it’s a gesture of attention to drivers from Polish transport inspection.”
