Violent clashes erupted between police and protesters in Seattle on Labor Day.

At least 22 people were arrested after a crowd gathered near a police union building. According to a police statement, protesters were arrested for ‘arson, assault, obstruction and failure to disperse’.

Seattle has been gripped by unrest since the killing of George Floyd in May.

Last week, Black Lives Matter supporters occupied streets around the City Municipal buildings, demanding the City Council commit to defunding the police department.
