Protesters opposing the COVID-19 vaccine mandate for Southwest Airlines employees gathered outside the airline’s headquarters.

Southwest Airlines requires all workers to be vaccinated by December 8, according to the federal deadline.

However employees will be able to apply for medical or religious exemption.

Initially the Texas based airline had announced that unvaccinated workers would be put on unpaid leave.

However Southwest has backtracked since.

Now employees who have applied for exemption, will be able to continue working until their claim has been processed.
