These are the shocking moments protesters reportedly vandalised polling stations across Russia. A woman was seen pouring coloured liquid into a ballot box and polling booths were set on fire.

Several protesters have been detained and were described as “scumbags” by Election Commission chief Ella Pamfilova.

Russia’s opposition movement has urged people who are unhappy with Putin or the war in Ukraine to show up at the polls and vote against Putin at noon on March 17th as a form of protest.
