Dozens of people gathered in The Hague on Tuesday to decry the extension of COVID restrictions until January 14. Due to a spike in the number of COVID cases, the Dutch government decided to extend the existing restrictions over the Christmas and the New Year’s Eve holidays.

The restrictions include a semi-lockdown with all the non-essential businesses ordered to close at 17:00 (16:00 GMT).
