A burning car was last night rammed into the home of a suburban Paris mayor, as his wife and children slept inside.

Rioters then fired rockets at the family as they tried to flee, injuring them.

It’s been condemned as “a murder attempt of unspeakable cowardice”.

It happened during the fifth night of violent riots across the country, sparked by the death of a teenager who was shot at point-blank range by police.
