Currently, 222 wildfires are active in Yakutia, the department added, with firefighters struggling to battle a difficult blaze in the republic.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, there are 17 settlements in the line of smoke, including Yakutsk, as special services continuously monitor the air condition.
