'Saddest cat' was saved a day before scheduled euthanasia

BenBen was brought in as a stray to one of the SPCAs. He had a crushed spine in about 5-6 spots, deep lacerations on his right hip and leg, and the cauliflower ear. It appears he was attacked by a large animal
and tossed around violently. His face permanently looks sad because he has a lot of excess skin on face and no one knows why.

A family previously adopted him but he was returned as that family didn’t want to deal with his medical bills. After that, he was deemed unadoptable. The vets said he’d never walk and he’d be on pain meds for the rest of his life. So he was scheduled for euthanasia. The day before he was slated to be put down, a woman who worked for an ER vet clinic adopted him and BenBen got his forever home.

His human family says when they brought him home, they were instantly greeted with purrs, smiles and cuddles. And over time, he has proven vets wrong with not just walking, but also running, and even jumping.

While he’s been dubbed the world’s saddest cat, BenBen is anything but.
