A man has been arrested in Seattle after throwing a flaming lumber into a patrol vehicle with the police officer still inside.

The officer had been patrolling an alley after receiving reports of a man brandishing a flaming lumber.

When the officer found the suspect and ordered him to stop, he instead threw the flaming lumber into the patrol vehicle, with the policeman still inside. Despite the shots heard in the video, the suspect ran away unharmed.

He was arrested moments later by other responding officers, who chased the man into a parking garage where they deployed a taser and took him into custody.

The flames engulfed the patrol vehicle, and the officer, who managed to get out in time, was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening burns.
