Spain: "I"m not afraid" - Koeman before match against Real Madrid

FC Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman spoke to the media in the Catalan capital on Saturday, on the eve of the match against Real Madrid in La Liga.

Koeman said he thinks his team has a good chance of winning the ‘Clasico,’ and stated that “we know exactly what we have and what we can do, and we have to prove it. I think that in a ‘Clasico’ there is not a clear favourite in the game.”

The Dutchman recalled his time as a Barcelona player, and declared that “I have won ‘Clasicos’ and I have lost ‘Clasicos’, I think it is very important,” adding that “it is my first ‘Clasico’ as a coach with public. It will be totally different. We have to enjoy.”

SOT, Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid manager (Spanish): “It’s the only moment in my life where I chew gum, I normally don’t do it. I don’t know how many… My feeling is the same for this type of game. I think to worry is normal, sometimes fear, because fear… they are positive feelings. If you’re not afraid, you face the lion thinking it’s a cat. So fear is a positive feeling, and that’s it. Confidence is need because I have a strong team, in my opinion, with players who have a lot of quality”.

SOT, Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid manager (Spanish): “Fear is something that comes to you, it’s something that sometimes you think about before a game or a training session, sometimes afterwards if you see that the team is not on the ball. It’s a very constant feeling. To have fear is a good feeling, it’s not a bad feeling. Fortunately, I’m not terrified. I am never terrified before a game because I think there are worse things than losing a game”.

SOT, Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid manager (Spanish): “It’s important, given that I’ve never won at the Camp Nou, I think it’s time to do it, to win a game at Camp Nou, it’s not going to be easy (laughs). But it’s three points, there are a lot of points you have to win - not only against Barcelona - if you want to win the league.”

SOT, Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid manager (Spanish): “Everybody knows, we all know, it’s a special match, for us, for Barcelona, for Spanish football, so we prepare for it as a special match.”
