Spain: Smoke and lava issue from La Palma volcano as eruption hits 12th day

Thick clouds of smoke and crimson lava continued to spew from the Cumbre Vieja volcano on La Palma on Thursday.
After 12 days of erupting, lava from the volcano reached the waters of the Atlantic on Tuesday.
Scientists have warned that the eruption, which began on September 19, could continue for weeks or even months.
The solidified magma is creating a new rocky platform that is already 500 metres wide (1,640 feet) on the Tazacorte coast.
More than 6,000 people from numerous villages have been evacuated, while over 800 buildings have been destroyed.
