State of Palestine: Man shot dead after funeral for boy killed by IDF leads to violent clashes

A 20-year-old Palestinian was shot and killed by IDF forces and dozen were wounded in Beit Ummar near Hebron on Thursday, during clashes that erupted after the funeral of the child Muhammad Al-Alami, who was shot dead by IDF one day earlier.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed the death of Shawkat Khaled Awad of his wounds after he was shot in the head and abdomen during Thursday’s unrest.

Palestinians protesters could be seen hurling stones at Israeli troops following the funeral with soldiers, in turn, firing bullets and tear gas at demonstrators.

The 12-year-old boy, Muhammad Al-Alami, was killed by Israeli army fire while he was riding in a car with his father on Wednesday. The IDF confirmed that live fire was used against the crowd, and announced launching an investigation.
