Sudan: Demonstrations on Khartoum streets in opposition to the military coup

Scores of protesters are on the streets of the Sudanese capital Khartoum on Tuesday, demonstrating to denounce the recent military coup.

The protesters were heard chanting anti-coup d’etat slogans, while others were seen burning tyres in the streets as plumes of smoke spiralled into the sky.

On Monday, the head of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereign Council, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, declared a state of emergency in Sudan and the dissolution of the Sovereign Council as well as the Cabinet.
