Syria: Military says Israeli airstrike thwarted by air defence near Damascus

Alleged Israeli airstrikes targetting an area close to Damascus have been thwarted by the Syrian air defences on Friday, according to military sources.
Footage seemingly shows the activation of the air defence system in response to missiles fired on Qatana near Damascus from the direction of Lebanon.
The Israel Defense Forces are now investigating the possibility that an explosion in central Israel might have been caused by errant Syrian air defence missiles which had missed their mark.
