Taiwan: Protesters hold rally in Taipei on eve of 4 referendum votes

Crowds held a rally outside the presidential office in Taipei on Friday on the eve of the upcoming Saturday referendum votes on the island.

People waved Taiwan flags and held signs in favour of the four referendum votes as they listened to a speech from former Taiwan President Mr. Ma Ying-jeou.

Taiwanese will among other things vote on whether to ban US imports of pork with ractopamine, a feed additive.

More than 19.8 million citizens are eligible to vote.
