Pro-democracy protesters in Thailand have started using inflatable ducks against police water cannons.

Officers tried to disperse crowds after demonstrators had gathered outside Thailand’s parliament in Bangkok for an anti-government rally.

The pro-democracy movement has called for significant changes to the constitution and reforms to the monarchy.

Violence escalated further when pro-democracy demonstrators clashed with monarchy loyalists in yellow shirts (the royal colour), who oppose any discussion of reform.

Thai lawmakers are debating possible constitutional amendments after months of unrest in the country.
