‘Tsar-Bucks: The Russian Coffee Shop RIP-OFF’

Coffee-loving Muscovites could be forgiven for momentarily thinking they are walking through the Russia of pre-Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.

But what looks like the return of coffee-giant Starbucks at first glance, is instead a strikingly similar rendition, albeit with Russian adaptions.

‘Stars Coffee’ has opened in the capital’s Novy Arbat avenue, armed with a menu that is almost identical to its predecessor.

The logo mimics the iconic Starbucks’s mermaid, but instead of a crown, she wears a traditional Russian headdress called a kokoshnik.
