Wildfires fanned by strong winds have been raging in Turkey’s south on Thursday night.

As fires have been sweeping across Antalya province, new blazes erupted in the province of Osmaniye. Up to 60 fires were burning across 13 provinces in total in Turkey’s Aegean and Mediterranean coasts since Wednesday.

Hot weather and strong winds have been fanning the fires, leading to the evacuation of dozens of villages.

Firefighters could be seen trying to extinguish a fire that broke out close to the towns of Karatepe and Kadirli leading to several evacuations in the regions as the fire was spreading quickly.

At least three people have died in forest fires that have broken out across the Turkish coast.

Several blazes have been contained while people keep fleeing the area as the fires leave a trace of burnt forests and buildings.
