Ali Harbi Ali, the alleged killer of UK’s MP David Amess, appeared at the Old Bailey in London on Tuesday where he pleaded not guilty in a pre-trial hearing.

The man accused of stabbing the Conservative MP of Southend to death also pleaded not guilty to the charges of planning a terrorist attack.

Ali is accused of “engaging in conduct in preparation of terrorist acts” between May 2019 and September 2021.

Amess died on the scene after being stabbed 17 times on October 15 whilst holding a constituency meeting at Belfairs Methodist Church in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex.

The trial has been scheduled for March 7 2022.
